Dr. Edward G. Brown is a chemistry expert with more than 25 years of laboratory research experience, more than five years of patent work experience, and more than 20 years of experience assisting attorneys in chemistry cases as a chemistry expert and expert witness.  

 

Dr. Brown earned his B.S. degree in chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley, and his Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of California, Davis. He also received post-doctoral research fellowships from the University of Auckland, NZ and Yale University. He pursued chemical analysis and chemistry research related to methodology development in organic chemistry at these institutions.

 

Dr. Brown has also worked in a number of biochemical and pharmaceutical companies during his career as a research chemist, staff scientist, and senior research scientist. He provides clients with in-lab contract chemistry research expertise and expert witness services. He also assists patent attorneys with drafting and prosecuting chemistry and biochemistry-related patents.

Dr. Brown has co-authored more than 20 chemistry articles and is a co-inventor on ten U.S. patents. He is familiar with voir dire and has been deposed. He has also testified in state and federal courts around the country as a chemistry expert in both criminal and patent litigation cases.

 

Dr. Brown's expertise as a chemistry expert in criminal drug cases has expanded over the years and includes advising in the areas of analysis, possession, manufacturing, and sale of the following illicit drugs: methamphetamine, amphetamine, cocaine, LSD, MDMA, benzodiazepines, and synthetic cannabinoids, as well as many less well-known substances.
